EPL - Nasri out for a month

Samir Nasri's impressive start to the new season has come to an immediate halt with the news that he will be sidelined for a month after undergoing knee surgery.

Arsenal have confirmed that Nasri requires surgery and that the midfielder will now miss around four weeks of the season.

Nasri impressed in the first half at Anfield as he deputised for captain Cesc Fabregas in a central role. However, the Spaniard is in contention to return for Saturday's game against Blackpool.

Arsenal have also seen Denilson and Alex Song suffer injury problems in the early part of the season although Johan Djourou has shrugged off a hamstring problem and is expected to play at the weekend with Laurent Koscielny suspended.
