Primera - Real closing in on Silva

After selling David Villa to Barcelona on Wednesday, reports in Spain claim Valencia are also poised to lose David Silva to Real Madrid in the coming days.

Villa and Silva stayed at the club last summer despite Valencia's financial difficulties but Los Che will be deprived of their two finest players if Real, as reported, do sign Silva in the next week.

Silva has also attracted interest from Manchester United but Marca reports that he could become a Real Madrid player before flying out to South Africa to represent Spain at the World Cup finals.

Valencia look to be busily preparing for next season and announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement to sign Grenoble star Sofiane Feghouli.

The 20-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder, has agreed a four-year contract and joins Turkey midfielder Mehmet Topal and Portugal defender Ricardo Costa is signing for the club this week.

Primera: Villa and Silva could be sacrificed

Valencia, who is in dire financial situation, has conceded they may struggle to retain the services of David Villa and David Silva.

The two Spain internationals are now reported to be targets for Sir Alex Ferguson as they look to reinvest the £80 million received for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Valencia faces ruin

Valencia president Manuel Llorente explained that they could have been demoted to the third tier of Spanish football this summer had it not been for the regional government who bailed them out to the tune of €74 million. Llorente insisted the club are not yet out of the woods and may have to sell star players David Villa and David Silva.

The club is expected to make a loss of between €35 and €40 million this season, something which clearly cannot be sustained in the long term.
