Larsson to retire at end of season

The news comes nine days after the 38-year-old quit the Sweden national team for the second time following their failure to reach the 2010 World Cup finals.

The player, who was capped 106 times by Sweden and netting 37 times, amassed over 300 goals during spells with Feyenoord, Barcelona, Celtic, Manchester United and Helsingborg.

Larsson's final game for Helsingborg will be the Allsvenska clash at Elfsborg on November 1.
