Burnley must pay Manchester United £500,000 plus add-ons for defender Richard Eckersley after the fee was determined by a Football Association tribunal.
United were hoping for over £1 million for their former trainee but Burnley's valuation was significantly lower.
The defender joined the Clarets last summer on a four-year deal after rejecting a new contract at Old Trafford.
