Real Mallorca have applied to go into voluntary administration, which is set to be confirmed in the next few days.
Mallorca were the surprises package of the La Liga season, with Gregorio Manzano guiding his team to a fifth-place finish and a Europa League berth. They almost made it into the Champions League.
Their achievement was all the more remarkable given their financial problems, which have now prompted the club to seek voluntary administration.
