Serie A - Buffon open to Premier League switch

Gianluigi Buffon has revealed he would be open to a move to the Premier League as he admits there is a possibility he could leave Juventus this summer.

Buffon, 32, opted to stay with Juve following their relegation to Serie B in 2006 but, with Juve now out of the race for Champions League qualification, there has been heightened speculation that he could move on.

The Italy goalkeeper recently dismissed talk he could join Manchester City, saying there was "no way" he would consider a move to the club as they are not among the European elite, but Manchester United are also believed to be interested.

Buffon accepts that the players are to blame for the club's disappointing season, but he suggested there need to be changes at the club if he is to remain next season.

Juventus recently appointed a new club president and are understood to be in the process of bringing in Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
