Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain has signed a new contract with Real Madrid until 2016.
Higuain had been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer but he verbally agreed a new deal last week. He was Madrid's top scorer last season with 27 goals, second only to Lionel Messi in the Liga scoring charts.
Higuain joined Madrid in December 2006 from River Plate.
