WC2010 - Iniesta has minor muscle injury

Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta has a "minor muscle injury", the national team doctor has revealed.

Iniesta was the star performer as Spain defeated Poland 6-0 in Murcia on Tuesday, with the Barcelona midfielder setting up two goals in the opening 15 minutes.

Iniesta was forced off after 39 minutes after feeling discomfort in his thigh and having missed much of last season with a thigh injury coach Vicente del Bosque was unwilling to take any risks.

However, Dr Oscar Celada revealed that Iniesta does have a slight injury, and that the midfielder wopuld undergo furthe tests on Wednesday.

Iniesta was one of three Spain players who ended the season injured, making his Barca comeback right at the end of the team's successful league campaign.

He looked to be suffering no ill effects from his thigh problem in Spain's friendlies against Saudi Arabia and South Korea, but Del Bosque and his staff are likely to tread very carefull with one of their most influential players.

The other two recovering players, Cesc Fabregas and Fernando Torres, both featured as substitutes on Tuesday and scored against Poland. For Torres, it was the first appearance since a knee operation in April and the player was happy to return.

With Torres and Fabregas both looking good, Spain will also now hope Iniesta is fit in time for their Group H opener against Switzerland on June 16.
